For Parents & Adoptees

Adoptees of all ages can struggle with their identity. Our community has discussed different avenues they have found to become connected to Guatemala and who we are as this new global generation of Guatemalan citizens.

In 2007 the Guatemalan government declared Pepian as part of it´s national heritage. A dish full of flavor and with a skill level of easy, it is sure to please your craving for culture and cuisine.

Festivals and parades are a frequent part of the Guatemalan culture. From NYC to Antigua, there is bound to be a festival that will get you moving and eating.

Culture is not a one size fits all but rather an evolving aspect of every country. Adoptees can often experience an abundance of different emotions surrounding the idea of culture; pride, loneliness, confusion, identity crisis and more. Culture can include languages, cuisine, music, dance and any community aspect that bring us closer together.
